Immortal Koi Is Going To Debut - Chapter 2

Chapter 2: Application

This was Su Jinli's first time riding in an elevator.

He stood in the elevator, excitedly rubbing his hands together, but also afraid of being looked down upon by Yura. He forcibly restrained himself and followed behind her with a calm demeanor, stepping out of the elevator.

Su Jinli came from the deep mountains and knew that he lacked knowledge, so he had prepared himself mentally before leaving.

When encountering new things, don't appear too shocked.

When encountering something unfamiliar, observe how others around you handle it.

Keeping a low profile ensures safety.

Yura led Su Jinli back to her home and, upon opening the door, turned around to scrutinize Su Jinli.

Su Jinli immediately put on a well-behaved demeanor.

"Did you come to see your brother without bringing any luggage?" Yula asked him.

Su Jinli suddenly remembered and exclaimed, "Oh no! I left my bike on the side of the road."

"What else did you leave behind?" Yula asked.

"Nothing else," he replied.

Yura stared at Su Jinli for a while before letting him into the house and warning him, "I'm warning you, don't have any strange thoughts."

Su Jinli was still worried about his bike and asked in a dejected tone, "Do you think my bike will be lost?"

"I think that bike is older than you and even if it's sold as scrap metal, it won't fetch much. Don't worry about it," Yura reassured him.

"Oh..." Su Jinli replied.

Yura found Su Jinli interesting and asked, "You don't mind paying 500 yuan in medical expenses, but you care about your bike?"

"Medical expenses can save lives," he replied.

Yura sat down on the sofa, gesturing for Su Jinli to do the same. She took out her phone from her pocket and asked, "Do you know which district your brother lives in? What's the name of the residential area? I can help you check."

"I only remember it's a fruit name, something... entertainment company."

"Wow, an entertainment company? Is your brother a celebrity? An assistant? Or another staff member?"

Su Jinli thought for a moment and shook his head, "I don't know..."

"What's your brother's name?"

"I don't know..."

"Excuse me?" [Note: Yura says this in English]

"Um... what does that mean? Is it a dialect?"

Yura looked at Su Jinli again with an incredulous expression. She felt that this young man was a bit peculiar. He was willing to save people and wasn't a bad person, but he seemed to not know much about anything and looked silly.

Also, he's really damn handsome.

Yura is well-connected, having met many male celebrities, both surgically enhanced and naturally beautiful, but there aren't many who can look as handsome as Su Jinli without any makeup.

Su Jinli gives off a clean and fresh impression, with the unique feature being his naturally smiling eyes that are always curved downwards at the corners, looking at you casually as if smiling at you.

He looks very comfortable and not at all unpleasant.

But... not knowing his own brother's name, could he be a fool?

"What do you know?" Yura asked him.

"My brother must be very handsome."

"Have you ever seen your brother?"

"He left early and I don't know what he looks like now. He changed his name too. I only know he works at an entertainment company with a fruit name and seems to be successful."

Su Jinli isn't stupid, it's just that even his grandfather doesn't know what his brother looks like now.

Becoming a spirit also requires a process.

More than a hundred years ago, they became spirit, but they weren't humanoid at first.

He is a Koi spirit, a Koi fish with two legs that gradually evolved to grow arms and change his body little by little.

To be honest, Su Jinli has only been in human form for 18 years.

Su Jinli's brother is the most outstanding among many spirits, so he was the first to go out and experience the world.

So now, Su Jinli doesn't even know what his brother looks like or what name he goes by.

Grandfather gave him an address, fearing that he would not know anything and would be in danger if he went out, so he told him to seek refuge with his brother. When he was leaving, his grandfather said that his brother's company name had a fruit in it.

He was in a hurry to leave the mountain and put the note in his pocket when he saw the words on it.

Unfortunately, he lost the address.

Yura thought carefully and said, "The entertainment company with a fruit name that is quite powerful in this city is Muzitao. (Note: peach wood) I'll send you there tomorrow to ask. If you can't find it, you can go home and ask your grandfather."

"No, I can't... my grandfather did it on purpose. He just wants me to stay on the mountain. If I go back and ask, he definitely won't let me out again."

After hearing this, Yura rubbed her temples with her hand, feeling a bit impatient. She wasn't interested in other people's family matters.

She nodded casually and said, "Then you can stay with me for the night. I'll have my assistant send you to Muzitao tomorrow."

"Okay, thank you!"

"After today, remember not to go out and talk about what happened."

"Okay."

After Yura finished her instructions, she got up and went upstairs to rest. Su Jinli watched her leave and suddenly shouted, "Miss, you'll change your luck."

"Huh?" Yura responded with a puzzled expression.

"Within the earth's rotation."

Yura was too tired to speak and just wearily pulled up her long dress and went upstairs without paying any more attention to Su Jinli.

Her current level of irritation was no less than that of an emperor about to lose his country, so naturally, she doesn't have a good attitude.

The next morning at 5 o'clock, Su Jinli sat up from the couch, crossed his legs, and began to practice breathing exercises, expelling the impure air from his body.

The spirit clan knows some techniques that are beneficial to the body, so after they become humanoid, their skin becomes fair and smooth like pudding, and they never have problems like acne.

After sitting quietly for an hour, Su Jinli stood up and did some simple exercises, walked around the room to observe the household appliances, and found everything fascinating.

He then walked to the balcony and as soon as he looked outside, his head felt heavy.

"Why is it so high?"

He was a little afraid of heights...

He was just a small fish and shouldn't be standing so high.

However, despite his fear, he bravely stood on the balcony and looked down for a while before feeling the scenery was very beautiful.

This is the city, completely different from the scenery on the mountain.

By the time it was after 9 o'clock in the morning, the door suddenly opened, and two people rushed in, looking flustered. They were startled by the boy's shoes at the door, and then noticed Su Jinli.

After seeing Su Jinli, the two people were a little surprised but still nodded to him.

Su Jinli simply bowed, even more polite than them.

"Hello, I'm Yura's personal assistant Xiao Mi, and this is her manager, Liangliang." After Xiao Mi finished introducing them, she asked, "Who are you?"

"I'm Su Jinli."

"Ah... Yura's..."

"Yesterday we saved someone together."

If Su Jinli had answered that he was Yura's boyfriend or something, they could have understood, after all, Su Jinli looked pretty good.

But isn't it a bit far-fetched to say that they saved someone together?

Taking the opportunity during a suicide attempt to save someone, this kind of thing really isn't common.

After clearing her throat, Xiao Mi dryly laughed and went upstairs to find Yura.

Liangliang looked at Su Jinli a few more times, feeling a bit tempted. It seemed like he wanted to sign as an artist and asked Su Jinli a few more questions.

Later, Liangliang thought that Su Jinli may have a special relationship with Yura, so he didn't say anything else and just sat on the couch, taking out his phone to check the news.

He had recently given up on pursuing Yura, so he didn't want to get too involved with anyone around her.

After a while, Yura came downstairs and asked Liangliang, "What do you mean by saying the news is being controlled?"

"It's strange. Overnight, your news disappeared and many of the marketing accounts that used to promote you have deleted their Weibo posts voluntarily."

"Are you kidding me?"

Yula knew about many things in the entertainment industry that were not known to the public.

An ordinary marketing account can post a promotional Weibo for as little as 3,000 yuan, but if you want them to delete it, they will charge double, 6,000 yuan.

Yura's negative news is overwhelming, and coupled with the involvement of her ex-husband and his current girlfriend, it's difficult to control. They have already adopted a giving up attitude.

Another option is to buy a hot search.

You can buy a few hot searches, but the higher the ranking, the more expensive it will be.

Yura's ex-husband wanted to mess with her and used the method of hiring a water army to spread the message, which was cheaper than buying hot search keywords, and the news was even more abundant.

But then all of these messages disappeared, which was quite strange.

Yura picked up her phone and looked at it for a while, but instead of relaxing her frown, her expression became more and more solemn.

She didn't think her ex-husband was so kind as to let her go. She just suspected that this was another conspiracy.

Su Jinli had been standing quietly on the side from beginning to end, waiting for Yura. After looking  for a long time, Yula finally remembered him and told Xiao Mi to take him to Muzitao Entertainment Company.

Xiao Mi immediately agreed and led Su Jinli to the elevator, stealing glances at him several times.

"Do you need anything?" Su Jinli asked, puzzled.

"No need to address me as 'you', just call me Xiao Mi. I don't have anything to do, I just think you're handsome. Are you an artist?" Xiao Mi asked politely.

Su Jinli shook his head. "No, I'm a man."

"Oh..." Xiao Mi thought this might be Su Jinli's dry humor and chuckled a few times.

Xiao Mi escorted Su Jinli to the entrance of Muzitao Company. Su Jinli thanked Xiao Mi repeatedly and then sat at the entrance of the company, waiting for his brother to come out.

Sitting there, he felt a bit confused. What if his brother walked past him and he didn't recognize him?

Furthermore, he heard that his brother didn't come to work on time and only occasionally came to the company. Wouldn't he have to wait at the entrance for a long time?

He stood up again and looked at the Muzitao Entertainment Company building, suddenly having an idea.

He could work at this company and slowly look for his brother. At the same time, he could earn a salary, and it would be even better if he could have food and accommodation provided!

Thinking of this, he walked quickly to the entrance and asked the security guard, "Sir, is your company hiring recently?"

The security guard looked at Su Jinli with a very friendly attitude. After all, they were the face of the entertainment company and even if they encountered troublesome reporters or crazy fans, they had to maintain a smile.

He pointed to the large poster at the entrance and asked, "Are you here to interview for a trainee?"

Su Jinli turned to look at the poster and had to step back a few steps to see it fully.

This giant poster was three stories high and took up an entire wall. It stated that they were recruiting trainees to cultivate and select outstanding idols to form a group.

Coincidentally, it is currently the time for recruitment.

Su Jinli patted his chest, feeling very lucky to have stumbled upon his brother's company during their recruitment period.

He ran over to the security guard with a bright smile, like a blooming flower, dazzling the security guard for a moment.

He asked how to participate in the interview and registered at the front desk with another applicant. After the other applicant's communication devices were confiscated, they were allowed into the company.

-----

The atmosphere in the office was a bit awkward.

An Zhiyan sat on the sofa, his long legs dangling in front of the coffee table, ignoring the gloomy face of Muzitao's star agent across from him, and continued to shake his legs nonchalantly.

Zhang Gu Ci glanced at the resume in his hand, his fingers trembling slightly.

The file belonged to An Zhihan.

An Zhihan was An Zhiyan's younger brother, notorious for being a spoiled rich second generation. Although this second-generation rich was well-known, he had never heard of him doing anything good.

The last news about An Zihan, he had a fight with a male artist. He was so angry that he smashed and sprayed the male artist with a fire extinguisher, covering him in white, and even took photos of him with his phone.

"Why doesn't your family sign your younger brother to your own company and personally manage him? It would also be more convenient to take care of him," Zhang Gu Ci tried hard to smile and asked An Zhiyan.

"Our Zhihan doesn't want to become famous through family connections. He wants to rely on his own abilities," An Zhiyan replied.

Would An Zhiyan himself believe such words?

"Why do you want to choose our company?" Zhang Gu Ci asked again.

"You're planning to debut a boy group soon, right? Just arrange Zihan to be in it. If your group is established, our company can provide you with resources," An Zhiyan said, interrupting Zhang Gu Ci's words rudely.

"We do want to establish a group, but first, we will recruit trainees and select the best few from them..."

"Well, let's just give Zihan a reserved spot," An Zhiyan interrupted again, speaking very impolitely.

"You can call your younger brother over and let him participate in the interview..."

After listening, An Zhiyan chuckled, adjusted his posture, and smiled at Zhang Gu Ci.

An Zhiyan was a mixed-race, with deep and attractive eyes that could always draw people who looked into them. At this moment, his cold smile was unexpectedly elegant and good-looking.

"Does my younger brother still need an interview?"

After a moment of eye contact with An Zhiyan, Zhang Gu Ci felt a little confused.

Zhang Gu Ci considered himself straight, and he was already married with children, so he wouldn't develop feelings for men. But when he made eye contact with An Zhiyan, he couldn't help but feel a bit infatuated.

He finally realized that the rumors about An Zhiyan in the industry were true.

The rumors said that An Zhiyan was a charming killer, emitting a mysterious charm.

Getting close to An Zhiyan or making eye contact with him, even if you previously hated him, would make you fall for him in an instant.

After a moment, Zhang Gu Ci finally compromised and straightforwardly asked, "Let's talk about the mutually beneficial aspects. After all, you know that if we sign your younger brother, we will definitely have to prepare PR expenses in advance."

Seeing Zhang Gu Ci finally give in, An Zhiyan relaxed and took out a document from his bag, opened it, and handed it to Zhang Gu Ci. "I think you will be interested. As for the PR aspect, we will handle it ourselves."

-----

The male student who interviewed with Su Jinli was called Chang Siyin. He had a good personality and was easy to get along with. He felt good about accompanying Su Jinli to the interview, at least he wasn't as anxious as before.

"I heard the elimination rate is super high..." Chang Siyin looked at the changing numbers on the elevator and said to Su Jinli.

"It's hard to find a job now, isn't it?"

Chang Siyin turned his head to look at Su Jinli and asked, "How many interviews have you been to?"

"This is my first time."

"I've already been to three companies, and the first one took a long time to consider but didn't hire me in the end. It's really difficult for people like us who come from a not so good school and don't have any connections, only dreams."

Su Jinli nodded along, not quite understanding.

At that moment, the elevator doors opened, and Su Jinli's heart skipped a beat as he instinctively wanted to escape.

But then, his wrist was grabbed by Chang Siyin, who leaned in and whispered, "I'm going... it's An Zhiyan!"

Su Jinli felt like a blazing sun had just walked out of the elevator, radiating a heavy aura of gold and purple. As someone with a pure yin constitution, encountering someone with such strong yang energy would make him feel uncomfortable all over, like a trembling little chick.

An Zhiyan suddenly smelled a strange fragrance as he walked out of the elevator and glanced at the person waiting at the door. He asked his assistant, "Why does it smell so good?"

The assistant was still preparing for An Zhiyan's security after he left, and was suddenly asked a question. She was a bit confused and smelled it herself before answering, "I didn't smell anything, is it perfume?"

"No... it's a smell that makes you very hungry when you smell it."

An Zhiyan's reply made Su Jinli, who overheard it, instantly scared and his legs went weak.
