"Careful!" Cheng Xuyuan yelled in surprise.
The corners of Yun Yi's eyes subtly lifted, deadly intent overflowing from his icy gaze. Although the blade in his hand hovered before Yin Qingcheng's neck, it felt as if it could pierce his carotid artery the very next second.
Unflustered, Yin Qingcheng calmly responded, "This is the Sanctuary. If you kill me here, everyone will be alarmed right away."
"Oh, really?"
Yun Yi intensified the force in his hand, gently slicing a bloody cut on Yin Qingcheng's wheat-hued neck. The blast of icy magic energy struck the wound, causing Yin Qingcheng to gasp in pain.
At the same moment, a youth at the side instantly summoned nine fox tails, his aura unleashed completely. The obsidian-like pupils in his eyes mirrored the phosphorescence in the room.
The moment Cheng Xuyuan began his transformation, Yin Qingcheng seized the opportunity as Yun Yi's attention wavered, swiftly retreating to a safe distance.
However, all of this seemed to be within Yun Yi's expectations.
"Let's see if your skills are worthy of a high-level mage," Yun Yi challenged, his ice blade transforming into a long sword. With a light thrust forward, he let go of the weapon. It flew like a comet streaking toward Yin Qingcheng, trailing a lightning-like tail.
Yun Yi's prowess could undoubtedly be ranked within the top three in Shen Wu Academy. Not even the dean could necessarily match him. Not daring to be careless, Yin Qingcheng tapped into the energy he had absorbed the previous night to quickly construct an earth shield.
Yun Yi then leaped up, swung his large hand, and summoned a myriad of vines from the ground. Thriving on the earth element, they dissolved Yin Qingcheng's earth shield with ease.
In response, Yin Qingcheng hastily conjured a large fireball, setting all the vines aflame.
For a moment, the room where the Phantom God lay dormant filled with smoke and magical energy zipping around chaotically, coming perilously close to the dormant formation multiple times.
Cheng Xuyuan, transformed into a Qingqiu fox, deftly dodged all attacks, carving out a path amidst the barrage of assaults from both ends to climb onto Yin Qingcheng's shoulder. Yet, just as he was about to sink his teeth into Yin Qingcheng's neck, a light lion hit him.
Thrown off balance, the furry creature slipped from Yin Qingcheng's shoulder.
Hovering midair, Yun Yi spoke abruptly, "Heavenly Fox, after last night's vessel gate event, you should not have much energy left to squander, right?"
"How did you know?!" Yin Qingcheng's eyes widened in surprise.
Cheng Xuyuan switched back to his human form, a smile playing at the corner of his lips as he slowly sauntered forward. Looking at Yun Yi, he cocked his chin and said, "In your current state, I can take on ten of you."
Yin Qingcheng tried to stop him by placing a hand on his shoulder, "Stop fooling around. You must have used a lot of energy saving me last night. And now, I..."
Interrupting him, Cheng Xuyuan summoned nine massive and splendidly dazzling fox tails. The blazing fox fire almost singed Yin Qingcheng!
"Remember, I'm not an ordinary character." He was in fact a plug-in.

The mirror's direction was pointed directly towards the dormant formation.
Yin Qingcheng, sensing danger, quickly pulled Cheng Xuyuan back. They watched as one by one, the fire dragons plunged harshly into the dormant formation, seemingly absorbed and vanished.

"The Phantom God has been sleeping in the flame of the fountain at the entrance of the holy temple," Asher said, his voice as chilling as a gust from snow-capped mountains. "From the beginning, when you entered Shen Wu Academy, your intentions were malevolent. You dismissed those eight outstanding students, hid it from me, and went to the Abyss to awaken the demon spirit beast... Did you think I wouldn't know about such a thing?"
Yun Yi, breathing heavily, his shoulders shaking uncontrollably, suddenly rode the wind and swiftly rushed out of the room, running straight to the fountain at the entrance of the holy temple.
Everyone began to panic. Some wanted to give chase to stop Yun Yi, but Asher waved his hand, saying indifferently, "With his own strength, it's impossible for him to awaken the Phantom God."

However, Cheng Xuyuan suddenly looked at the door and shouted, "No, he can do it."
Everyone stared at him in disbelief.

It was because the system told me the Phantom God would awaken! What else could it be?
