Chapter 65
Note: I think this is now officially my favorite arc lol. These two are too funny ˶ᵔᗜ ᵔ˶
At this moment, Shen Qi felt what true despair was.
At the same time, his mind was occupied by two certain things.
He had anticipated everything, but he had never imagined that a dragon could have two of them.
Why? That didn't make sense!
A dragon isn't a snake, so why would it have two of these?
Shen Qi looked at the two big things, his heart tightened. Could he escape from this world in time? He had a strong feeling that if he stayed, something terrible might happen.
The man saw his gaze, took it as a sign of interest, and made an unconscious movement, causing the two items to proudly wiggle.
The banana that Shen Qi was holding was crushed into a mushy mess.
Fear flashed in the man's eyes, and he quickly covered his own two bananas.
"Hehe," Shen Qi laughed ambiguously, tossed the smashed banana onto the ground and stomped on it twice more. With a gentle smile, he said, "Don't be scared. I mean no harm. You're a dragon, I can't possibly beat you."
As if only just realizing his own identity, the man's expression brightened slightly. However, recalling the fright he just experienced, his face soured again. He growled threateningly at Shen Qi. However, having transformed into a human, he lacked the dragon's imposing presence. In Shen Qi's eyes, he seemed more adorable than threatening.
Shen Qi set aside the banana, picked up a purple fruit, and split it in half, revealing its pinkish-purple flesh. He handed half to the man, "What's your name?"
The man paused, his gaze lingering on Shen Qi's face before accepting the fruit. "My name is Chi."
"Chi? Like eating?" Shen Qi looked at the man's red hair in correlation to the fruit in his hand. (Note: 吃 [Chī])
The man frowned, "No, it’s Chi, as in blazing red." (Note: 赤 [Chì])
Shen Qi looked impressed, "That's a good name. It suits you."
Dragon Chi perked up immediately, grabbed a handful of the fruit's flesh, and stuffed it into his mouth. His face scrunched up in the next moment, and he spat it out, "It’s sour."
So, it was sour.
Shen Qi promptly categorized this purple fruit as non-consumable and picked up a green fruit instead. He split it open and offered it to Dragon Chi, "How about trying this one?"
Dragon Chi, a bit slow on the uptake, didn't sense Shen Qi's ill-intentions. He gleefully accepted the fruit and threw it into his mouth. This time, his expression relaxed, "Sweet."
Shen Qi laughed as he had Dragon Chi taste a variety of about ten fruits he had picked. He jotted down their tastes, determining which ones were immediately edible and which ones weren't.
By the time he tasted the last bitter fruit, Dragon Chi realized Shen Qi's intent too late. Anger flickered in his dark red eyes.
'Cunning human!' He thought, 'How dare you trick a dragon!'
Shen Qi took a bite from the sweetest green fruit. Before the dragon could get angry, he leaned over, pressed down on his shoulders, and sealed his lips with a kiss.
Dragon Chi's eyes widened in surprise.
A soft laugh trickled out from Shen Qi's throat. He stuck out his tongue, licking the dragon's lips before prying them open. Smoothly, he pushed the sweet fruit pulp from his own mouth into the dragon's.
The sweetness spread in the dragon's mouth, covering the bitter taste. Dragon Chi reflexively sucked at the sweet pulp, inadvertently pulling Shen Qi's tongue along.
Shen Qi moved his tongue skillfully, hooking onto the dragon's. He licked, bit, and suckled, touching every part of the dragon's mouth that he reached. Soon, the sound of slurping rose, blending with the sweet fluid that trickled from the corner of their lips.
The dragon's gaze gradually hazed over. His body trembled slightly, and his breath grew heavy.
However, before he could react, Shen Qi abruptly stopped. With an audible pop, he released Dragon Chi. He stood, licking his lips and asked with a grin, "Still bitter?"
Dragon Chi's eyes were bright red, his breaths coming out in short spurts. He growled low, threw away the fruit in hand, and pounced at Shen Qi.
With a tiny hop, Shen Qi easily evaded him. Holding out a single finger to press against Dragon Chi's forehead, he cautioned, "Don't forget, I'm a male."
Dragon Chi deflated like a pricked balloon. Despair washed over him once again. He wailed in grief at the sky before rushing into the cave. With a loud thud, he turned back into his half-sized dragon form and fell flat inside the cave. The ground shook, raising a cloud of dust.
Trying to suppress his laughter, Shen Qi shook with mirth. He covered his mouth to keep quiet. If he wasn't worried about Dragon Chi hearing him, he would have burst out laughing.

After he had his fill of laughter, Shen Qi wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes. He sorted and stored the remaining fruits, then washed his hands in a pond before taking up a short sword to go hunting.
Being a boy in his growing years, he naturally had a big appetite. Practicing martial arts was exhausting, and while fruits could provide some relief, they were certainly not enough to fill his stomach.
Perhaps it was the presence of Dragon Chi that deterred any wildlife. Not even a single rabbit or ant could be seen around the mid-hill area, let alone wolves, tigers, or leopards.
With no choice, Shen Qi had to put in some effort to travel to the eastern part of the island. There, he hunted a wild boar, five rabbits, and three pheasants. He also gathered bird eggs, wild vegetables, and some other ingredients that could serve as substitutes for spices.
He shared a portion of the game — two rabbits and a pheasant — with Mori and York. They had been busy too, having built a simple wooden tent, caught some game of their own, and gathered quite a few mushrooms. Shen Qi promptly took a leaf and wrapped a few of these fungi for himself.
Upon returning to the cave, he found Dragon Chi still in sorrow, his tail motionless by the entrance. Suppressing a smile, Shen Qi put down the game he had brought, cleared his throat, and approached, tugging at Dragon Chi's tail, "Chi?"
Dragon Chi did not move.
"I've brought back some game, would you like to eat?" Shen Qi tugged at his tail again, coaxing, "I can cook tasty meat, and I need your help. If you're willing to help me, I will share half with you, okay?"
Nevertheless, Dragon Chi remained unresponsive, seemingly lost in his sorrow.
Rubbing his forehead, Shen Qi couldn't help but regret teasing the dragon earlier. Seeing no good in trying to coax Dragon Chi any further, he decided to prepare the meal on his own.
Surviving in the wilderness was not a new experience for Shen Qi, who had traversed several worlds. But never before had he started with nothing, as he was doing now, building everything from scratch.
Fortunately, he had martial arts skills and a short sword, which helped him progress beyond the 'Stone Age'. Charging up his inner power, he quickly crafted simple stone bowls and plates. A stone pot wasn't practical for cooking rice, so he carved a slab of rock instead. Boiling meat was too time-consuming, hence he opted to roast it — a much quicker method.
Swiftly securing some wood, he crafted a simple BBQ grill for roasting the meat. With a limitation on time and evening fast approaching, he decided to leave the crafting of more complex tools for the following day. Life was long. He would deal with immediate matters first and prepare the meal at hand.
After setting up, Shen Qi began preparing the food. Taking into account Dragon Chi's appetite, he decided to prepare the entire wild boar. He sliced every possible piece of meat, intending to roast the rabbits and pheasants whole.
The seasoning didn't need to be complex; saltiness and sweetness would suffice. He didn't have salt, but he found substitutes. As for sweetness, there was honey. A beehive was on a tree not far from the cave entrance. Most probably, the bees had been frightened away by Dragon Chi, abandoning the beehive, which conveniently benefited Shen Qi.
As for fire, Shen Qi initially planned to ask Dragon Chi for help – he could provide enough fire with a small puff. But given the current situation, Shen Qi had to do it himself. Thankfully, there were items similar to flint stones in this world. He found some dry grass, and it was quite easy to kindle a fire.
Shen Qi worked tirelessly, placing the rabbits on the grill and preparing the pheasant using a traditional method. He placed the sliced pork on the stone slab, brushing them with the prepared seasoning. Next to the meat, he placed some washed mushrooms. Soon, a tempting aroma began to fill the air.
The aroma grew stronger and, with Shen Qi's deliberate fanning, wafted into the cave.
Ten minutes later, there was a thunderous noise as the massive dragon that had been lying on the ground sat up. Its tail swept across, causing several stones to fall and thereby clearing more space in the cave.
Dragon Chi stuck his head out, his gigantic noggin appearing somewhat comical.
Shen Qi waved at him and asked, "Want some?"
The dark red eyes blinked, and with a flash of red light, Dragon Chi shifted back into human form. Within moments, he was at Shen Qi's side, staring at the mouth-watering meat on the stone slab. "Yes, I want some," he replied.
Shen Qi couldn't help but glance at Dragon Chi's two prominent 'attributes' that he seemed oblivious to. Shen Qi's hand, holding the short sword, trembled with the urge to cut off one of them.
Perhaps detecting his inexplicable hostility, Dragon Chi bristled and growled at him, looking alert.
Was he that perceptive?
Calmly setting down the short sword, Shen Qi picked up the wooden chopsticks he had carved and placed the roasted meat in a stone bowl. He handed it to Dragon Chi with a warm smile. "Here, have a taste and see if you like it."
Perhaps because he wasn't accustomed to being in human form, Dragon Chi preferred to squat or sit like his dragon self. Due to Shen Qi previously teasing him with fruits, he hesitated this time and sniffed at the meat. It wasn't until the aroma overcame him that he reached out with his fingers, not taking the stone bowl directly. He touched the roasted meat and licked it before looking up at Shen Qi as if checking to see if he was being deceived again.
Shen Qi found this gesture to be endearing and, without restraint, leaned in to give Dragon Chi a peck on the corner of his mouth. Dragon Chi trembled in surprise and then fired up, his dark red eyes blazing. His previously small body parts swelled in size.
Shen Qi twitched the corner of his mouth and decisively picked up a piece of meat, stuffing it into Dragon Chi's mouth, using the delicious food to curb his desires.
Dragon Chi's eyes sparkled even brighter after tasting the meat. Convinced that Shen Qi didn't trick him, he immediately grabbed the stone bowl and started pouring the meat into his mouth.
In a moment, he had dumped all the slices in the small bowl into his mouth. He chewed with bulging cheeks and handed the empty bowl back to Shen Qi. His meaning was clear.
Looking at the empty bowl, Shen Qi felt a sense of foreboding.
His premonitions proved correct, as an entire wild boar — barely touched by Shen Qi — ended up in Dragon Chi's belly. Dragon Chi ate as much as Shen Qi grilled.
Squatting beside him, Dragon Chi stared at the stone slab. The moment anything was cooked, he would instantly grab it and stuff it into his mouth, unfazed by the hot temperature.
His name, Chi, should actually be Eat!
Speechless, Shen Qi decided to seek retribution when it came to the last bowl of meat. He dug out an earlier bitter fruit he had found and, when Dragon Chi wasn't looking, smeared its pulp on the meat.
Dragon Chi indeed fell for it. He pinched a slice and popped it in his mouth, then instantly spat it out. "Bitter," he retched.
Turning, he saw Shen Qi's laughing face and realized he had been tricked again. He glared at him in anger and quickly stuffed a slice of meat into Shen Qi's mouth.
It was extremely bitter.
Shen Qi's face scrunched up. He hadn't anticipated that the fruit would be so bitter, even more so than bitter gourd. It was so bitter that Shen Qi was on the verge of tears.
Dragon Chi saw Shen Qi's reddened eyes and, in a moment of uncertainty, decided to do something. He ran off to the side, dug up a chunk of honey and stuffed it into his mouth. He then dashed back, placed a hand on Shen Qi's shoulder, and leaned in for a kiss.
He recreated exactly what Shen Qi had done to him earlier.
Pushing the honey into Shen Qi's mouth, he stirred his tongue with a sense of novelty and fun. Tiny barbs on his tongue, unnoticeable when Shen Qi had kissed him earlier, now rasped against the inner lining of Shen Qi's mouth, causing a tingling numbness.
Shen Qi's breathing halted as he was stimulated, feeling a sensation in an instant.
Fortunately, Dragon Chi appeared to have accepted the fact that he was a male and didn't prolong the kiss. Just like what Shen Qi had done to him earlier, he let go once Shen Qi started showing a reaction.
Shen Qi shut his eyes halfway in an attempt to regain his composure.
Suddenly he felt a poke down there. It was Dragon Chi. He lifted the apron around Shen Qi's waist, poked Shen Qi's lower part, looked at his own and commented, "So small."
His words were filled with pride, arrogance, and a slight contempt.
Shen Qi: ...
'Where's my sword?' he thought. People with two sets of privates are heretics! He must be cut off!
