Chapter 69
Dragon Chi, at such a mature age, had only felt this level of anger twice. The first time was when a female dragon kicked him and announced his impotence to other dragons, which led to him being a source of ridicule for his entire kind.
He hadn’t lied previously; he did indeed care a lot for Shen Qi. Shen Qi cooked delicious barbecued meat, told captivating stories, and even gave him massages. Of course, he knew now that the massages were known as stroking. Shen Qi was even willing to go through the trouble to find a female who could help him perform.
To Dragon Chi, Shen Qi was the kindest person he had encountered in his four-hundred-year existence, even kinder than his parents who had sent him away without a second thought.
Although he had been alive for four hundred years, his parents had abandoned him as soon as he had learned how to hunt for himself. Dragons are solitary creatures, tolerating a partner at most and some could not even stand their mates, separating from them once the mating season was over.
His childhood was once filled with glory. Among dragons his age, he was the strongest one who could not be defeated by anyone. The year he matured was the defining time of his life. He beat every dragon in his generation and caught the attention of the most beautiful and fiercest female dragon. But this admiration soon turned into mockery after he failed to perform in bed.
Unable to release, the pain of his mating season tortured him. He had no other choice but to sink into the deep sea to suppress his feelings.
He only enjoyed adulthood for less than a year. The following three hundred years were spent in seclusion.
After prolonged solitude, he had almost forgotten how to initiate conversation when he first met Shen Qi. He knew he wasn’t intelligent, as most dragons aren't, but he was learning. Over the last half month, he saw and learned a lot. He began to understand, his feelings towards Shen Qi were not simply of servant and pet, but a desire to mate.
So, he had regrets. He didn't want to look for a female anymore, and this wasn't just because of the gold coins but also because of Shen Qi.
He realized that it was acceptable for males to be with males. Shen Qi thought he didn’t know, but he had observed it several times. He saw that there were not only females in these brothels but also males — or rather, not just women, but men too. He saw how the guests treated these men.
After the initial shock, his first thought was of Shen Qi. He realized he didn't need a female; what he needed was Shen Qi!
When he understood this, he also vaguely realized his mistake. He should not have allowed Shen Qi to bring him here in search of a female. Lost and unsure of how to explain this to Shen Qi, he suddenly found himself confronted by the present situation.
Before, he had only felt the grief of his reachable gold coins getting away. Now, it had morphed into the anger of seeing his gold coins in the arms of another.
He rushed forward, pushing away the young man clinging to Shen Qi, and took Shen Qi possessively into his arms. He glared at the young man sprawled on the ground, "You can't hold him! He is mine!"
At this unexpected behavior, Shen Qi and the young man were both stunned.
The young man had been pushed rather suddenly, falling into a railing which made his whole body ache. Upon hearing Dragon Chi's words, his eyes welled up with tears. "Big brother Shen..."
Shen Qi frowned and pushed away Dragon Chi's hands. "Let go." He then addressed the young man, "Are you okay?"
The young man gave him a pitiful look.
Dragon Chi, who felt even more wronged, stubbornly held onto Shen Qi. He roared at the young man, a growl full of male-to-male threat, "Get lost!"
The young man jumped in surprise, glancing at Shen Qi.
"Sorry, you can leave first, I'll find you later," Shen Qi reassured him.
"Okay," responded the young man, a look of relief on his face. He gave Dragon Chi a cautious glanced, looking at him as if he were a madman, then he hastily withdrew from this corner.
"You still want to meet him? You can't be with him!" Dragon Chi was distraught. He quickly caught on, observing Shen Qi and the young man's demeanor. It was clear they were not meeting for the first time. The thought of them being alone together, hugging as they just did, possibly even...
The anger in his heart flared up again.
"Why can't I be with him?" Shen Qi scrutinized Dragon Chi's expression, and quickly understood the situation. So, he finally figured it out?
A small sigh of relief escaped from him. It seemed his arrangements over the past few days weren't in vain — he had finally grasped the reality. If Dragon Chi had still remained oblivious after all this, Shen Qi would have been forced to resort to drastic measures.
"We had a deal, didn’t we? I help you find a female, and you won’t interfere with me finding a mate. Allen is adorable, and I think he's a great catch. I want to take him home with me."
Dragon Chi's eyes widened, seemingly unable to believe what he was hearing. The next moment, a fierce flame ignited in his eyes, "No, you can’t! I won’t allow it. I regret it. You can’t find a mate. You can’t love someone else. You have to be with me, you can only love me!"
In this moment, Dragon Chi's domineering nature, characteristic of his dragon heritage, was finally revealed. His normally sunny face now reflected the threat of a ferocious beast and his overbearing nature.
"Love you?" Shen Qi raised an eyebrow, "You don’t want a female anymore?"
Dragon Chi instantly felt guilty. His ferocity and overbearing attitude faded away as he cautiously looked at Shen Qi's face. Awkwardly, he said, "I, I, I don't like those females. They can't get me aroused. Only you can do that for me. I didn't know before that two males could be together like this, but now that I know, I don't want a female anymore. I only want you."
Although he spoke the truth, it didn't sound very pleasing to the ear.
Shen Qi struggled to free his hand, but without resisting, Dragon Chi let go. Shen Qi straightened his clothes and sneered, "So, because I can help you get an erection and relieve your desires, you like me? Your affection seems trite and cheap. At least when you didn't know men could be together before, you never said you liked me. Is it safe to assume that you're holding onto me just because only I can get you aroused?"
"There are so many people in this continent, and you've barely met a few. What if one day you find someone else who can arouse you? Would you say you like them too?"
"Of course," Shen Qi smiled, his eyes not reaching his smile, "You are from the great Dragon Tribe. As long as you wish to be with someone, no one would refuse you."
Dragon Chi digested his words in a stupor.
Shen Qi's gaze gradually grew cold: "Rest assured, I was originally a sacrifice offered to you. If you don't want me to find a mate, I won't. Just as you said, I will accompany you and never refuse anything you'd do to me."
Seeing Shen Qi's expression, a feeling of apprehension arose within Dragon Chi, sensing that he had said something wrong again. He said, "No, no, that’s not what I meant. I..."
However, the words "never refuse anything you'd do to me" did evoke a small sense of satisfaction within him.
Shen Qi felt a little reluctant deep down, but he had to help Dragon Chi understand the situation. What if there truly were others who could arouse him just like Shen Qi? Given the Dragon Tribe's usually unrestrained attitude, there's no telling what might happen.
Reflecting on his actions these past few days, any pangs of reluctance were quickly suppressed. Shen Qi ceased his smiles and respectfully bowed towards Dragon Chi, saying, "I apologize for any previous offense. If you want to blame someone, blame me and spare Allen from harm."
The rage surged again within Dragon Chi's heart, accompanied by a wave of fear. He didn't like this repose of Shen Qi where something unknown seemed to be slipping away from him, causing unease.
"Don't talk to me like that..." he pleaded, "I’m not blaming you, and also..." gritting his teeth, he continued, "I won't harm that Allen, you don’t have to worry..."
Shen Qi clearly sighed in relief: "Thank you."
Dragon Chi felt uncomfortable and asked, "Do you really like him that much?"
Shen Qi's gaze softened momentarily but quickly reined it in, answering calmly, "Don't worry, I won't like anyone you disapprove of."
Dragon Chi's discomfort intensified. What should have been a pleasing response somehow failed to lift his spirits. Shen Qi's reactions were too telling, even Dragon Chi could tell that Shen Qi genuinely liked Allen.
The thought stirred a magma of jealousy within his heart, as if he wanted to rip Allen out and crush him.
Observing Shen Qi's unfeeling face, Dragon Chi felt extremely wronged. He did not understand why Shen Qi had to speak about him like that when in reality, he had done nothing wrong.
Puffing out his chest, he declared, "I want a duel with him!"
"Duel?" Shen Qi was taken aback.
Dragon Chi declared with fighting spirit, "In the dragon clan, the winner of a duel gets to choose his favored dragon. I like you, and so does Allen. So, I want to duel him. If I win, you'll be mine!"
Shen Qi massaged his forehead — wrong, this was all wrong. He had forgotten that the real issue between him and Dragon Chi wasn't being the same gender, but being from different species. How could different species engage in a romantic relationship?
Fires of determination flickered in Dragon Chi's eyes. He was ready for battle, "I am among the most powerful fire dragons in our clan. Even if a frost dragon challenged me, I wouldn't be afraid. For my mate, I will never back down!"
Shen Qi furrowed his brows, panic evident on his face. He tried to rectify the misunderstanding, "You're mistaken. I don’t like Allen. He doesn’t like me either. Our relationship is mercurial, based on monetary transactions. Just as you attract females with gold, I attracted him the same way. He is fond of my gold, not me."
Dragon Chi was taken aback by his past behavior with females. He felt a pang of guilt. But seeing Shen Qi defending Allen so vehemently, he felt heartbroken and furious.
"Why don't you like me? I genuinely like you. I may not understand everything you say, but I know I only stand up for you now. I only want to mate with you. From what I've seen, humans only have one gem, but I have two. I'm better than them. Why don't you like me? I promise to make you feel good. I asked others, whether one is more pleasurable or two. They all said two is better."
Asked who? They said two is better? How did he ask? Shen Qi was stupefied.
Dragon Chi noticed his confusion and excitedly explained, "These past few days, I've seen many instances of human males mating with each other. If three people were involved, the one in the middle seemed exceedingly happy, especially when something additional was inserted. I've seen it! You also have that golden item you keep hidden away. Given how much you seem to enjoy its use, I can offer it to you. No, never mind, I have two. That should be sufficient, they always used only two, never three."
Shen Qi felt a twitch in the corner of his eyes. He earnestly believed that the butler had misunderstood his intentions. All he had asked for was a few harmless scenarios to enlighten Dragon Chi. God, what had they done? Where did they get the impression he had such fetish?!
Dragon Chi suddenly closed his eyes, murmuring in an incomprehensible language. When he opened his eyes again, a red glow flashed, and a blood-red gem-like thing emerged from his forehead. It dropped directly onto Shen Qi's forehead.
Shen Qi just felt a heat on his forehead, as if something was now connecting him and Dragon Chi.
"Don't be scared, it's a blood pact," Dragon Chi said with earnest affection. "With this, you can’t leave me, nor can I leave you. And no one can harm you. I may not completely understand your concerns, but I know that I genuinely like you."
Then, Dragon Chi suddenly blushed: "Let's mate."
Shen Qi: ...
So, the last sentence was the main point?!!
