Immortal Koi Is Going To Debut - Chapter 59

Chapter 59: Sharing

Recently, An Zhiyan finished filming his recent movie. Apart from an endorsement commercial and a magazine cover shoot scheduled in a few days, he didn't have much work left to do.

This left him with plenty of time to think about Su Jinli. He found himself thinking of Su Jinli when he woke up, while brushing his teeth, during changing clothes, and even while eating.

What was even more frustrating for him was that he dreamed of Su Jinli in his sleep, with the recurring theme of Su Jinli running away with Shen Cheng.

In frustration, he woke up at three in the morning, smoked four cigarettes, and afterward, found himself completely unable to sleep.

With doubts in his heart, he asked Zhihan if there were any strange occurrences in their dorm room, like anything suddenly flying across.

After pondering on it, Zhihan mentioned one thing: there was often a fishy smell in their dorm's bathroom.

Putting two and two together, An Zhiyan thought of something. Su Jinli was afraid of touching water, and there was a fishy smell in the bathroom. Could these two facts be connected, implying that there was an anomaly when Su Jinli came into contact with water?

Could this symptom lead to a fishy smell?

So, when Su Jinli comes into contact with water, do fish scales appear?

Recalling that Su Jinli had mentioned not eating fish as it would affect the evolution of his kind, did this prove that Su Jinli was some sort of fish spirit?

The more he thought, the closer he felt his theory was to the truth, so he began to test it out.

"Even if touched by water, it's no big deal, as long as I quickly dry off," Su Jinli replied, trying to maintain an air of calm, but his fingertips were trembling.

"Oh," An Zhiyan nodded after studying Su Jinli's expression.

This round, An Zhiyan did not send Su Jinli into action but chose a volunteer player instead.

After entering the training camp, their days and nights were consumed with rigorous training. Rare occasions like this were vital opportunities to seize.

Without swimming for a while, in such scorching weather, of course, swimming would be the most refreshing.

As the team leader, An Zhiyan naturally had to participate and went to change into swimming clothes with the program crew.

In reality, the production crew wished for An Zhiyan and Lu Wenxi to flaunt their physiques. However, both of them wore t-shirts, ostensibly because "it was too revealing for broadcast."

Only the heavens knew how broadcast networks managed Olympic swimming competitions.

Unfortunately, the status of both of them was too high, so the production crew didn't insist.

"Every time I see my brother's bare legs, I can't help but laugh," An Zhihan whispered to Su Jinli.

Still immersed in the panic that An Zhiyan had discovered his secret, Su Jinli was dazed for a long time. After An Zhihan finished speaking, Su Jinli only lifted his trousers and said, "I'm not that muscular either."

"You're fine, but he's not. He's a rough man who's turned into a delicate boy."

"Why didn't you participate in this competition?" Su Jinli asked An Zhihan, who had been itching to swim a few days ago.

"I won't participate; I want to join an event with you."

"You will lose."

"That's not necessarily true."

In this round, Lu Wenxi's team lost, mainly because the game rules were quite perverse.

The players had to swim to the edge, then complete a primary school math application question before passing on the baton to the next person.

From Lu Wenxi to his teammates, their team was utterly perplexed by the question and couldn't solve it for a long time.

On the other hand, An Zhiyan's team had the little angel Chang Siyin, who resolved the issue effortlessly.

After getting out of the water and fixing his hair, An Zhiyan said to Lu Wenxi, "Read some more books!"

"You're not any better than me."

Lu Wenxi didn't finish all his high school courses and managed to get into college by other means, focusing solely on becoming a celebrity.

An Zhiyan, on the other hand, was a child star since an early age. He later got into a drama academy primarily through his acting skills. His college entrance exam score was just about passable, and he tightly held onto it to avoid being mocked.

The two were really much alike.

In the second segment, it was a basketball snatch and song contest.

Each team dispatched 4 people – two of them would play basketball, while the other two would prepare on a treadmill.

When the referee blew the whistle, the two members playing basketball in the team could start seizing the ball. Once one of them got the ball and successfully made a shot, the treadmill on their side would start. The team member on the treadmill had to sing along with the music.

If they sang the correct lyrics, their team got points.

If they got the lyrics wrong or couldn't guess what song it was, the opposing team would get the points.

This time An Zhiyan called out Su Jinli and asked, "Can you play basketball?"

Su Jinli shook his head.

"Try shooting a basket." An Zhiyan threw the ball to Su Jinli.

Su Jinli held the ball with both hands, tried to make the shot, and ended up being mocked by An Zhiyan for his pose, "A basin-holding-style shot?"

Su Jinli argued, "Isn't it just about getting the ball in?"

"Yeah, yeah, just give it a try."

Su Jinli stopped the "basin-holding" pose and changed to a running start. After a leap, he sent the ball into the basket.

A beautiful dunk with an impressive jumping ability.

An Zhiyan instantly cheered, "Awesome! Awesome!" When Su Jinli came over, he ruffled Su Jinli's hair.

However, right after An Zhiyan's marveling, the program director announced, "Alright, the trial is over. Please raise the basket."

Following that, everyone saw the basket being hoisted up, raising about one meter.

Even An Zhiyan, who was over 1.9 meters tall, was taken aback.

Were they trying to provoke him?!

Seeing this scene, Su Jinli took the initiative to step on the treadmill.

The teammate who joined him on the treadmill was Fan Qianting, as Fan Qianting knew that the height wasn't suitable for him.

An Zhihan seemed to be determined to stick with Su Jinli and got on the treadmill, not participating in the basketball game.

As the game started, An Zhiyan's team began fighting for the ball. Due to the unfamiliar height, they attempted several shots before An Zhiyan finally scored.

After the successful shot, the treadmill started. Both Su Jinli and Fan Qianting screamed and began to run frantically.

The speed was too fast; they could barely keep up without being thrown off.

The program team started playing music, and Su Jinli, after hearing it, was puzzled, "I've never heard this song before!"

Fan Qianting, out of breath from running, awkwardly finished singing the song.

An Zhihan couldn't stop laughing, "The number of songs Su Jinli knows is extremely few; he's just here to fill a spot."

Fan Qianting felt helpless and asked Su Jinli, "So, you want us to eat the mysterious dark cuisine with you?"

Su Jinli felt extremely wronged, "I... don't want to either."

Seeing Su Jinli's expression, An Zhiyan immediately softened, "It's okay, it's just a game; don't worry about it."

As the game continued, Su Jinli's "musical black hole" side was fully exposed. He really hadn't heard many songs and couldn't sing them.

If Fan Qianting hadn't sung the song, their team would have given points to the opposing team.

However, Lu Wenxi's team seized the opportunity, and both players usually took advantage of it.

After listening to ten songs, the program group announced, "Change the topic."

"Change it to what?" everyone asked at once.

"You can answer first then find out the topic."

Both teams could only continue grabbing the ball and shooting at the basket. Then, Lu Wenxi's team won the chance to answer the question.

The program group reading the topic: "What is the next line after 'the bright moon surprises the bird on the branch'?"

An Zhihan and his team couldn't hide their shocked expressions.

Yet the director group added: "This is in junior high school textbooks."

"Even if it's in elementary school textbooks, I can't remember!" An Zhihan admitted he was a bad student.

"This is Su Jinli's forte!" Fan Qianting immediately yelled.

Lu Wenxi, standing aside and watching, commented, "If we grab the chance this round, we will give points to them. If they grab it, they will be able to answer. Is there any fun left in this game?"

Finally, An Zhiyan came back to life and gave Su Jinli a thumbs-up: "Your choice is correct."

Because Su Jinli was happy, he danced a "finger heart" dance towards An Zhiyan on the treadmill.

Watching him for a while, An Zhiyan suddenly smiled sweetly. He felt more energetic as he tried to snatch the ball in the following games.

An Zhihan, on the other hand, protested loudly, "Stop messing around, I have some knowledge too. At least I know 'Bright moonlight in front of my bed, Frost blankets the ground, Looking up, I gaze at the moon, A line of egrets flies westwards'."

Lu Wenxi burst out laughing, "The poem you quoted not only has a wrong line, but also the last line is in the wrong drama. Going west? Are they following Monk Tang and his disciples to fetch the scriptures?"

However, Su Jinli seriously said, "Actually, if you think about it carefully, the poem Zhiyan recited isn't that problematic. Look up at the moon and happen to see a line of egrets flying westward..."

"Alright, alright, stop trying to cover it up for him. I, as his older brother, can't stand it anymore," An Zhiyan ruthlessly interrupted Su Jinli's attempted rescue for An Zhihan.

The scene was out of control for a moment, and the whole field burst into laughter.

The game to snatch the ball began again. Lu Wenxi's team had lost their fighting spirit, allowing An Zhiyan to succeed in shooting the ball.

Lu Wenxi immediately argued, "Your questions are too easy, you're just looking down on us retro boys."

After some consideration, the program group posed the question, "What is the next line after 'climbing the North Pole in one breath'?"

Su Jinli answered almost immediately, "Inhaling the great void to replenish the void."

After the question was answered, many people were a little confused, and they didn't even seem to know what was being said.

The treadmill had already stopped when Su Jinli said, "It's from Chu Ci, written by Jia Yi. This sentence is especially beautiful in the official translation: 'I climb the Polaris and take a short rest, inhale the soothing air to satisfy my hunger'."

An Zhiyan: "Oh."

Lu Wenxi: "Oh."

An Zhihan: "It rhymes well."

The questions that followed were a bit uneven. When it was Lu Wenxi's team's turn, the questions were elementary and middle school level, while when it was An Zhiyan's team's turn, they were very difficult.

However, Su Jinli still achieved overwhelming victory.

In the third round of competition, Lu Wenxi's team was already focused on participating. They still displayed their spirit and persisted in completing the competition, finally winning one round.

After that was the punishment session.

Both teams sat face to face at a long table. In front of each player on An Zhiyan's team laid half a watermelon, and they were given spoons, allowing them to scoop and eat.

It's simply a summer privilege.

On the other side were bluelotus fried rice and bitter melon stewed beef. Both teams started eating at the same time.

After eating a few bites of watermelon, Su Jinli went to An Zhihan's side, "Can I taste it? Just a bite."

An Zihan immediately replied, "I can give it all to you."

Su Jinli tried a bite of the fried rice with a spoon. After tasting it, he said, "It's okay".

Then he took a bite of the bitter melon stewed beef. After finishing, his face turned sour instantly, "Really... disgusting."

"Serves you right for being greedy," An Zhiyan commented from the side.

"But the fried rice is okay." Su Jinli scooped a spoonful with his own spoon and fed it to An Zhiyan's mouth, "You have a taste."

An Zhiyan looked at Su Jinli's spoon, hesitated a little, and still took a bite.

He couldn't make out the taste, what he cared about was the spoon that Su Jinli had used.
