Immortal Koi Is Going To Debut - Chapter 60

Chapter 60: Falling Off A Horse - Truth

After the set of camera shots were done, the contestants were allowed free time.

On this occasion, it seemed like the production team had granted them a holiday. No more cameras followed them; they could do whatever they pleased.

The contestants hurriedly changed into swimming suits that the production team had prepared for them, eager to swim in the pool.

An Zhihan insisted on performing a dive, like a man possessed. His jump ended with him crashing into Wu Yu. Both of them were stunned for quite a while. They then playfully wrestled each other in the water until they were exhausted.

Su Jinli sat by the poolside, watching them swim, unable to suppress a twinge of envy.

He was a koi — a fish immortal.

During his days in the mountains, he'd often bathe in the streams. Protected by an array, the water was crystal clear—perfect for a delightful swim.

He'd been away for nearly a year and hadn't swum for a long time.

However, his magical power was insufficient to control his fish scales, so all he could do was sit by the pool, wistfully watching as if he couldn't swim at all.

An Zhiyan sat by the poolside, slicing open a watermelon. He mentioned to a few female contestants, "There's an indoor pool. It's smaller than this one, but it's quiet and free from the sun. You can lock the door from the inside, and there's no surveillance in there. You could even skinny-dip if you wanted to."

Several female contestants immediately ran off excitedly to the indoor pool.

Su Jinli watched them leave, continuing to enjoy his watermelon.

After eating some distasteful "dark cuisine," Lu Wenxi, feeling unsettled, came over for a few bites of watermelon to cleanse his palate. He simultaneously whispered to Su Jinli, "Can't you swim?"

"Yeah."

"I've seen Shen Cheng swim, how come he's fine?"

"He's more capable than I am, I can't. I'm the weakest one in our mountain, even weaker than my younger brother."

"I have to leave once I'm done eating; I've been quite busy recently. I wouldn't have made it here if it weren't for Shen Cheng's request. Be careful after I leave," Lu Wenxi said, bidding his farewell to Su Jinli.

"Alright."

"If anything arises, contact me. I have an army of eight million haters on my side who can be handy in a pinch. I've sent you a friend request on WeChat. When you get your phone back, just add me."

Lu Wenxi's fans continue to be somewhat mythical in their presence — organized and disciplined. Wherever they go, nothing remains.

Su Jinli hasn't involved himself in these affairs, so he doesn't understand much. Knowing it's Lu Wenxi's good intention, he readily nods his head and says, "Alright, thanks, Brother Lu."

"It's nothing, I'm leaving now," Lu Wenxi said, and then bid farewell to An Zhiyan as well.

An Zhiyan, not far away playing with his phone, casually acknowledged their departure.

After Lu Wenxi left, An Zhiyan seemed to want to go swimming, too, so he said to Su Jinli, "Help me apply some sunscreen to my body."

Su Jinli took the tube of sunscreen from An Zhiyan, who immediately took off his shirt, showing his back to him.

From Su Jinli's perspective, he could see An Zhiyan's sturdy back, smooth muscle lines, and unexpectedly fair skin.

Perhaps because of his mixed-race background?

He squeezed some sunscreen out, but since he was still a bit flustered when he saw An Zhiyan, he accidentally squeezed out too much at once.

Fearful of wasting any, Su Jinli quickly spread all the sunscreen on An Zhiyan's back, eventually rubbing back and forth. It took quite a while to make it even.

"Are you kneading a pancake on my back?" An Zhiyan couldn't help but turn his head to ask.

"I squeezed too much out. How did so much come out at once?" Su Jinli was particularly flustered. He eventually rubbed An Zhiyan's back with his own arm to redistribute some of the sunscreen.

An Zhiyan reached for his sunscreen and glanced at it. "Wow, that's impressive. You squeezed out half the bottle in one go. How did you manage that?"

Su Jinli could only apologize: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

"It's fine. With you using this much, it's like wearing extra clothing — super safe," An Zhiyan said. There was no way he was going to blame Su Jinli and reassured him instead.

After having spread the sunscreen on both of his arms, Su Jinli found An Zhiyan's back still quite wet, so he had no choice but to rub it with his face.

Feeling Su Jinli rubbing against his back, An Zhiyan subconsciously straightened up. It was as if Su Jinli was being coy.

The scent on Su Jinli was already irresistible enough, let alone this close physical contact. An Zhiyan found it hard to endure.

He cleared his throat, struggling to remain calm. Finally, Su Jinli was done.

"It should be all right now," Su Jinli said, patting An Zhiyan's back.

"Okay, thanks for the effort."

Still in the same spot, Su Jinli rubbed the sunscreen on his face. Glancing left and right, he noticed a member of the crew grilling meat and immediately ran over and joined them.

Watching Su Jinli walk away, An Zhiyan said nothing and went swimming.

Just as he arrived by the water, a crowd of people started screaming. A good physique ought to be shown off!

The contestants had left the training camp and were participating in the sports event at a nearby resort.

That night, the production team arranged separate rooms for all contestants. The living conditions were very good, which excited many of them.

Making it to the top 15 indeed had its benefits.

Playing the whole day with Lu Wenxi and An Zhiyan, who else could one ask for?

Su Jinli was in his room, standing by the window. Seeing fewer people downstairs, he began to feel restless.

He really wanted to swim. However, he had to be careful not to reveal his secret to others.

Fortunately, he had a room to himself this time, so he could sneak out without being noticed.

After returning to his room, he went to sleep and woke up at 2 a.m. He put on his clothes and picked up the items he had prepared earlier, and stealthily left his room.

He briskly descended the stairs and saw that there was no one around.

The street lamps in the resort were still on, along with the scenic starry lights, forming a dreamy seascape of lights. The scenery was splendid. Walking alone in the cool night brought a sense of serene joy. Indeed, it was a good place for long-term recuperation.

Smiling, Su Jinli leisurely strolled to the edge of the pool. He squatted down and touched the water, feeling overwhelmingly excited.

Concerned about potential night guards, he looked around before slipping into the darkness indoors.

The door here was only half-closed, probably anticipating some late-night customers, as they did not have a closing time.

He walked into the indoors, looking around until he found the indoor swimming pool that An Zhiyan had told him about.

The indoor swimming pool was not large, being a circular pool where a few people could swim freely. It would not work if it became crowded.

To his surprise, the room even had curtains.

Of course, he didn't know that this pool was specifically reserved for couples...

After locking the door and pulling the curtains of the room, he found the room completely dark. Fortunately, he had good night vision, which prevented him from getting immobilized.

After undressing in the changing room, he jumped into the swimming pool.

Swimming indeed felt super comfortable!

This time, he no longer held back and turned back into a Koi fish.

This Koi was quite large, about the size of a five or six-month-old baby. As it swam around in the pool, it felt invincible.

An Zhiyan suffered from insomnia again.

He thought he was sick. Having feelings for someone, yet not daring to pursue them.

Realizing something was off with someone, yet not having the courage to ask directly, he could only let his thoughts run wild.

He went out onto the balcony intending to smoke a cigarette. Because he was always afraid of being photographed by paparazzi, he squatted down in a spot where he could hide, puffing smoke alone.

After finishing a cigarette, he had just stood up when he saw Su Jinli walking happily towards the swimming pool with a small bag in his hand.

Watching Su Jinli walk away, he hesitated for a moment but ended up leaving his room anyway.

He wanted to know—all about Su Jinli.

He had never been so desperate to know something.

He came out late. By the time he got to the outdoor pool, there was no one around.

He didn't know if Su Jinli was coming here and was about to leave when he saw someone pulling the curtain of the indoor pool.

This caused him a moment of hesitation. However, still, he inexplicably walked over.

When he arrived at registration, he discovered that Su Jinli hadn't checked in, and hadn't taken the key card. He couldn't help sighing.

This little fool didn't know to turn on the "Do Not Disturb" sign when entering the room, and didn't know to take the key when going to the swimming pool.

He took the key, swiped it to enter the door of the pool, turned on the light, and saw a bewildered fish in the pool.

The entire fish seemed to be shocked silly.

He turned his head to look at a cupboard on one side, its door still ajar, accentuating the owner's impatience.

There was also a pair of slippers by the pool, one of which had been kicked far away.

Despite being mentally prepared, when he saw such a large Koi fish, he was a bit flustered.

However, he was the type of person who was surprisingly brave, so he walked over and asked, "Are you Su Jinli?"

The eyes of a fish are on the sides of its body, so Su Jinli in the pool could only turn sidelong, using one eye to look at An Zhiyan, then shook his fish head to deny.

"Oh, then you are Su Jinli's pet?" An Zhiyan asked.

Then he saw the huge fish nod its head.

An Zhiyan nodded to show that he believed it, then walked over and waved to the fish.

The huge Koi fish obediently swam towards him.

This Koi fish was golden all over, its scales shiny. Atop its head, there was a small white spot, which, upon closer inspection, glowed a faint blue. It looked a little out of place.

An Zhiyan hung the room key card around the fish's neck, saying, "Tell your owner that you must take this so that others can't come in from outside."

The fish nodded its head again.

An Zhiyan didn't linger any longer, but just walked right out. When he got to the door, he lifted his hand to smell his fingertips.

This time it didn't smell nice.

It smelled a bit fishy.

  1. I don't like how ml discovered mc's secret. I want mc to tell it to ml at the right time when mc is already ready to tell him, not ml sneaking on mc.
